Sunday morning we took Kali to the vet to get her staples out. The doctor gave her the all-clear and said her stomach is healing up nicely. Of course, when we got home we had another issue to deal with.
We had to keep her separated from Rocky while she recovered and for whatever reason, Rocky decided he was no longer a fan of hers. He'd get near the door of her room and hiss - and throw an out-and-out fit the one time we tried to bring him in to visit. I don't know if it was the cone she had to wear or smelling like the vet, but he was not having it.
When we brought her home, he was no better. He hissed and ran away. And Kali, being Kali, chased right after him. He was not a happy kitty.
These guys had never been apart before, so we decided to just let them be and see what happened. By the next morning, they were okay being in the same room. I was pretty thrilled to see them both sleeping in the living room - even if they were on separate couches.
And a few hours later? Look who crawled over next to his sister.
So, as far as the kitties go, we're getting back to normal - no meds, no restrictions, no hissing. It's a good feeling. The last month was super crazy - the move, trying to get things set up, vacation and then Kali getting sick. Hopefully August is a much quieter month around here!
