The (Accidental) Lenten Diet

I gave up sweets for Lent. I thought about giving up just ice cream or just candy, but I realized that whatever I gave up I would just be replaced by some other sweet. So, I gave up all sweets.

It's been about two weeks and a few things have happened so far: a) I'm not snacking as much and b) when I'm snacking I'm making better choices. Add on to this the fact that I've re-started the C25K and I've lost about seven pounds. Pretty awesome, right?

And then I read that the average person gains 11-15lbs on a cruise.
We just booked a vacation on this pretty boat:

Going here:

In a room like this:

Granted, I have more than six months before we go, but I'm thinking maybe I should just get a jump on things now. Maybe if I lost an extra 10lbs beforehand, I could eat my weight in ice cream on the cruise and be a happy girl.

  1. I went on a cruise, and I gained NO weight. I ate a lot of food, but I also walked everywhere and always took the stairs. We were on Deck 2 and the buffet was on Deck 9 so I just walked up and down 7 flights of stairs to get food or ice cream or whatever. Not to mention I walked all over the boat constantly and all over the islands we went to. I don't know which Carnival ship that is but I was on the Destiny and it was amazing so I'm sure you'll have an awesome time :).
