More Knotties

(L-R: Me, Kimberly, Sasha and Nina)

Saturday I had the opportunity to go into the city and meet up with a few more July 2009 Brides from the Knot.

The Knotties really are a unique group. When I walked in to the brewery we were meeting at, Sasha and Nina were already there, waiting at the bar. I recognized them immediately - and they recognized me. When Kimberly came in a few minutes later we were like, oh, that's Kimberly! Pretty cool considering none of us have ever met before.

Much like that last get together I went to, we talked a lot. So much that we ended up sitting there for about fourty-five minutes before ordering our food - there was just too much to talk about, we didn't have time to look at the menus. Our poor waitress!

Get together time goes at warp speed. Before I knew it, we had been there for more than two hours and some of the girls had to scoot off to other obligations.

When I got home, Mark asked me what me what we talked about for so long. My immediate response was "Oh, nothing really." His response was, Nothing really? For that long?

In truth, we talked about a lot. More that is humanly possible to pack into one conversation, I think. Everything from where our rings were bought to reasons why kids shouldn't listen to rap music. Seriously.

It's also starting to occur to me that a number of these girls will probably be friends past July. I guess it's the bond of going through such a big thing in your life together, but I feel incredibly connected to the group. I can't wait until the next get together is planned!

Back from Vacation

The last few months have been so busy. Adding life and wedding planning produced a packed calendar. It's funny - I know my time has been pretty full, but I didn't realize just how crazy I've been until I had a chance to step back.

Mark and I got home yesterday from a week in Disney World. It's a trip we've been talking about taking for more than a year now, and I'm so glad we finally went. It was a great time to visit too - not only did we get to do Mickey's Halloween Party and the Epcot Food and Wine Festival, we missed the first snow storm of the season!

It was not a restful vacation in the sense that we ran from park to park, ride to ride, food stand to food stand. But, not thinking about to-do lists or work or wedding plans for a whole week was great. I love days in which the biggest decision is where to eat lunch.

It's like we had a chance to recharge mentally - and I'm ready to start tackling the wedding to-do lists again!
